Meredith A. Bonn, RPR elected to NCRA leadership as Vice President

RESTON, Va., Aug. 11, 2020 — The National Court Reporters Association (NCRA), the country’s leading organization representing stenographic court reporters, captioners, and legal videographers, announced that Meredith A. Bonn, RPR, of  Webster, N.Y., was elected to serve as 2020-2021 Vice President during the Association’s Connect 2020, a virtual event that took place Aug. 7-9 in lieu of the traditional Conference & Expo that was canceled due to COVID-19.

Bonn has been a court reporter since 1990 and was named official senior court reporter for the New York State Seventh Judicial District, Rochester, N.Y., in 2007. From 2000 to 2007, she served as an official court reporter for the same court, and prior to that, she worked as a freelance reporter from 1990 to 2000.

She holds the nationally recognized professional certifications of Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) and Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR). She is creator and presenter of The Power of the Positive Attitude and has presented it twice at NCRA and the New York State Court Reporters Association (NYSCRA) conventions.

Bonn is an active member of NYSCRA and currently serves as its immediate past president. She served as chair of its 2014 Convention Committee and is currently active in promoting the court reporting profession. In addition to volunteering at a number of middle and high school career events, she has also presented at Careers in the Courthouse programs. Bonn is also a leader of the NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program in Rochester, N.Y.
