Official Court Reporter II - Judiciary of the U.S. Virgin Islands (Job# 201901347)

The Judiciary of the U.S. Virgin Islands is seeking qualified applicants for full-time Official Court Reporter positions in the sunny and picturesque islands. This is highly responsible technical and clerical work attending sittings of the court, capturing a verbatim record of court proceedings using a stenograph machine and preparing and providing transcripts.

This position offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, optional vision, long-term and short-term disability benefits and paid vacation, sick leave, and 19 holidays. In-person, hybrid, or remote options (at the applicant's request) will be considered for this position. Successful applicants will be subject to a criminal background check and a six months’ probationary period. Steno machines and equipment are provided. Salary is commensurate with experience and court reporters may retain transcript fees.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an approved high school supplemented by graduation from a post-secondary court reporting program approved by the NCRA. Experience as an official court reporter in a courtroom setting is preferred, but new court-reporting graduates are encouraged to apply.
