NCRA and NCRF are proud to support students as well as new and seasoned professionals in court reporting and captioning through various scholarships and grants. Applicants must typically meet specific criteria, such as NCRA membership or verified speed requirements.

Stenograph Milton H. Wright Memorial Scholarship

Open to court reporting students in formal court reporting programs, the $5,000 merit-based award covers tuition, and use of a student writer and software.

NCRA CASE Student Scholarship

Open to NCRA student members currently attending an NCRA-approved court reporting program and who have passed one skills test at 160 wpm or higher.

Open to students who have completed an NCRA A to Z® Intro to Steno Machine Shorthand program and passed one skills test between 60 and 160 wpm.

Career Launcher Student Scholarships

To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a stenographic court reporting school and/or provide verification of speed of Skills test at 180 wpm or higher.

Open to NCRA student members who have been interning in a court reporting or captioning role within the past 12 months.

NCRF Student Intern Scholarships

NCRA student members who have been interning in a court reporting or captioning role within the past 12 months. Students must have passed a skills test at 190 wpm or higher, and a short essay is required.
