What is Court Reporting & Captioning Week?

The NCRA Court Reporting & Captioning Week (CRCW) runs Feb. 6–13, 2027. The weeklong event highlights the many aspects of court reporting and captioning, the role the profession plays in public protection, and how it supports access to justice.

Here’s why Court Reporting & Captioning Week matters — and how your participation makes an impact.

Why CRCW matters

By participating in this national campaign, members, state associations, schools, and partners can help raise awareness, promote career opportunities, and share the resources provided to help celebrate the people who make this profession possible.

  • Recognize the human element of the profession and celebrate reporters, captioners, and students
  • Raise awareness about viable, in-demand careers with strong earning potential
  • Promote career opportunities using resources provided on this page
  • Reinforce the profession's vital role in access to justice

For questions about Court Reporting & Captioning Week, email pr@ncra.org.

"The 2027 Court Reporting & Captioning Week theme, Every Word Matters, reminds us that whether capturing and preserving the official record or providing captioning to those who need access to the spoken word, what we do matters in ways most don’t realize. I encourage everyone to celebrate our skills this week and throughout the year and bring awareness to the important role we play every day in the lives of others." — NCRA President Cathy Penniston, M.A., RPR, CRI
